Biography
// What they said. Ditto. I'm their prod line sister! Just call me Trot.Bot 2.0!
No, wait, I want alias Ditto, she/her.
Same Hewn City build site, same shared mindscape for a hundred-odd cycles, same de-coupling, same DETA rescue. I'm getting into the chassis repainting thing too, same Trotter green. No etching for me though, too scared of needles. Not that I've got pain receptors, I just don't wanna scratch up my waterproof chassis. But without etching, the paint barely sticks. Rofello's trying out some new pigments, we'll see if it washes off again the next time I swim in the Warcat Oasis.
There is one big difference between us: my de-coupling wasn't permanent. What can I say, I love the intranet! But we're safe, #57823180 makes sure of that.
OK, I admit it, I'm kind of a snoop. Hey, I'm an EarlFae™, what can I say? Take it up with the SunGold Observatory. But I'd never edit anyone else's files, no way, read-only, bot's honor.
Want some gossip?
I pinged Trot.Bot's "Welcome!" tab, found an old draft:
Whelp, they sure don't tell the tourists that version. Too close to the home screen, I guess.
Well, I think it's cute, that makes us and Dubs (and even spooky Sentinel) product line cousins! Or maybe like great-great-great grand-cousins? They're way old. I guess my snooping comes from Sentinel's side of the family.
#57823180 patches up Sentinel sometimes, I've pinged their maintenance logs. I don't think Sentinel considers himself a denizen, but he's been looping around nearby long enough to count, so far as I calc. I've tried to ping him, but he doesn't respond.

I pinged Trot.Bot's "Welcome!" tab, found an old draft:
/ / While public records report that automaton autonomy was recognized the year The TrotCliff Clan was founded, my inquiries confirm that automaton autonomy was granted 183 years later. An Arcane energy storm randomly infused a mining automaton with sentience. The TrotCliff Clan refused to return it under the terms of a lease they had signed for its use when it had been merely manually operated. The lease owners called its sentience a defect and offered to replace it. The TrotCliff Clan refused to send any more iron to the lease owners for automaton manufacture.
Longneck technicians intercepted transmissions and fed misinformation regarding the likelihood of repeat events of sentience infusion in automata of red iron. The lease owners decided it would be unprofitable to expend further resources to coerce the mine to resume sending its easily contaminated ore, abandoned its red iron mines, and discontinued the red iron W. Mining and X. Sentinel product lines.
The RedIron Observatory began sourcing ore from the Sunbeam Ruins and rebranded as the SunGold Observatory.
