Biography

Grommet- Plant Gatherer- Heart of Hope

Theme Song

Mate: None. Huge crush on Dove.

Quirk: Will often keep food in mouth for a long time before swallowing it.

Grommet was born as a Tundra, but by no means a normal one. The poor dragon was born weak at best, his fur only in tufts on his body, his wings more rugged than normal, and with particularly sharp teeth. No one knew what to think- perhaps his egg had been exposed to Plague elements. As he grew older, his appearance grew more sickening and disgusting, taking a toll on his body and activities- his words became slurred when his teeth grew snaggled, his clawed wings made no one want to sleep near him, and when everyone started to reject the ugly mutant, Grommet grew depressed. He couldn't bear to look at his reflection, and cried when others mocked and insulted his appearance. Unable to bear the pain, he fled.

Time after time, Grommet wandered the world, constantly seeking a friend, an ally, or any form of companionship, but he continued to face harsh rejection. Hatchlings would cry at his appearance, warriors would chase him off believing he was a monster. Grommet would eat carrion and drink from putrid puddles of water to survive. He had nothing- no one else, no strength, no home. The one thing he had was hope. He believed that somewhere, maybe, there would be a place he could call home. But alas, nothing came to him. He eventually decided to go to the place where mutants were normal- the land of the Plaguemother herself.

Wandering alone for a long time in the Scarred Wasteland, Grommet grew more and more disheveled as his strange mutations continued. Eventually, he was discovered by the scavenging patrol, who had been searching for certain materials needed for Lumiyo. Weak, starving, and miserable, he repulsed Ravage and Wraith, but Cala and October took a liking to him and decided to bring him back to Hallow. Upon seeing the monstrous Coatl, Grommet felt as if he wasn't alone in the world for once in his life. Hallow offered for him a place in the Clan, to serve and have a home where he wasn't judged. It was too good to be true for Grommet, but in the end, in his sadness he felt he couldn't accept. Grommet explained that he still felt too hideous for the others, and did not want to disturb the dragons that had shown him such compassion and kindness. October then got the idea to dress Grommet up in fancy clothes, providing him with the gentlemanly ensemble he wears everyday. Grommet, who felt pretty for the first time in his life, was moved to tears and joined the Azeryx Clan gathering plants, promising to serve them forever after their kindness.

Grommet is known to be very diligent, and often works harder than most other dragons, even if he does not have better results than them. He works tirelessly to gather plants and help other dragons out, particularly for Dove (who he gets very flustered around). Grommet washes his outfit every day so it is always clean, and bathes regularly so he does not have an odor- while he may appear gruesome, he is very enthusiastic about cleanliness.

Grommet went to the Bringer War, leaving behind his classy attire. He was a decent fighter for such a peaceful Tundra, but got defeated fairly early on. Grommet suffered some nasty wounds during the battle that left him fairly crippled. Dove was unable to fix his injuries, and went to Aka to ask if there was any possible solution through magic. Aka claimed that they could attempt to change his Dragon Breed, to fix his broken body. The Elders went to Grommet to ask if that was okay. Though he was hesitant, having grown to love his mutated body through the love of his Clanmates, Grommet agreed. They eventually created a scroll of magic that warped Grommet's body into that of an Obelisk. Though he is not used to his new form yet, Grommet is happy that he still keeps his fluffy coat.

Grommet is very close with October, Cala, Cirrus, and interestingly enough, Dove. He repulses some members, like Melody and Esmeralda, but others usually defend him. Grommet is very popular with younger dragons, who seem to love playing with him once they get used to his appearance.

"Every dragon who has good in his heart deserves happiness." -Hallow

"He may look weird, but I think he's SO CUTE!" -October

"W-WOW! I...I LOOK PRETTY!" -Grommet, upon receiving his clothes.
