Biography
It was a quiet, peaceful night. Not a sound, not even a bird's song could be heard. It was dark, unusually dark, no moon or it's light in sight. Something wasn't right. I always felt that way, whenever a storm was brewing. But this storm, this night was different. This night, during this coming storm, my eggs would hatch, it would be perfect.
My special hatchlings would be born on a special night. During a lightning storm, the best time for a lightning derg to hatch. I'd lay by the nest, throughout the whole storm, keeping you warm, singing you lullabies, telling you stories.Maybe you'd hatch during the middle of the storm, with lightning, with power flowing through your veins. Maybe you'd hatch right after the storm died down, right when the moon came out, right when everything went back to normal. Or maybe...you'd never hatch. I'll never know.
Maybe if I'd gotten there sooner, maybe if I flew a little faster, maybe if I fought a little harder, I would've been able to save you, too.
Maybe they took you to Felix, your big brother. He'd tell you kinds of wonderful stories about your clan, your family. Maybe he'd tell you that we didn't love you, that we gave you away, abandoned you.Or maybe, they took you somewhere else, somewhere faraway, in a distant clan. They'd probably told some sob story about how they found your egg, all alone, without anyone to love you. Your new leader probably never guessed you had a family, dergs who love you, a home. That's fine, though. I'm not mad.
I just wanted to let you know, where ever you are, that I love you, more than your new parents ever could. Even if you don't get this letter, even if you're already dead, I'll be waiting here for you.
I'll let this scroll loose, and hope that Windsinger brings it to you.
