Pre-change
A Catcher without her Pearl is meaningless... At least that is what most of Philosopher's kind would say, but after endless years searching for a purpose the female has finally found it in the shape of a stone. She has accepted that what once held her identity is broken, and the truth of the Pearl, being the true meaningless object she once thought held her faith. The stone she carries is blood red, and most believe it is where her astonishing healing powers derive from, but she insists that it is pure skill. The female is mostly solitary, and only shares her secrets with






her traveling companion and mate who also lost his Pearl many years ago. He sometimes carries the stone with him, but not as much as his mate.

Post-change

More than once had Philosopher grown bored with spouting prophesies and oracles only to be ignored or brushed aside. She had also grown tired, and restless, with healing what seemed to be a never ending stream of injured {and incompetent. What dragon doesn't know how to dress a scratch??} dragons. She heard the darkness whisper, and after so many years of resisting, she followed their directions to the very center of the Wyrmwound in the Scarred Wasteland. She was directed to dive into it, and suddenly, she found herself unable to resist no matter how alarming it was. When she emerged, her pearl was no where to be found, and her body had changed. Instead of a small dragon needing to carry a pearl around, she was a large dragon with the need to protect something.

However, she again heard the whispering. This time it guided her to the very center of the Tangled Wood into the Forum of the Obscured Crescent. Why this was, she'll never have a clue. But, once she got there she noticed a scroll on the ground. Curious, she drew nearer and as she gazed at it, Philosopher never once realized she was in any danger until it was too late. Tendrils attached themselves to her legs, wings, tail, and eventually, her whole body. She thought that she was going to die. But, as soon as she began getting anxious, the black sludge slowly sank into her scales, and skin. The only evidence of this happening was the fact that the sludge will forever pour out of her eyes, never to be contained by her body.


Unfortunately, due to Philosopher's decent into madness, she doesn't retain any memories of anyone she may have known. Essentially: if they knew her, she cut the ties with them. In fact, she's so afflicted by her madness and corruption, that she rivals Luminax in terms of aggression.
