Biography

pUajRie.gif NARAMAU [she/him]
The Great Guard | Blightknight
Strict | Brooding | Antisocial

She was born a warrior, a guard of the eternal tomb of all horrors imaginable and unimaginable, and for most of her long, long life he knew no other purpose other than that. Proud member of the Overseers, Naramau kept watch at the cells of the most abominable horrors. Every day and night that she kept watch, the Voices of the Shade tried their worst to fill his ears with empty promises of power and luxury, begging, enticing Namarau to free them. But the gaoler was powerful not only in her form, but his will, and kept watch dutifully, without ever succumbing even a bit to the call of the void.

But, despite gaoler's entire purpose as a breed, not all of these ancient ice dragons capable of resisting the temptations of the Voices. One such gaoler, a young and inexperienced, barely adult fledgling, leaned too much into the protective wards of the timeless cell, and broke just a fraction of the Icewardens protective spell. But that fraction was enough - dark matter of the Shade quickly sipped out, consuming the poor, pitiful soul and fleeing.

The gaolers were furious, ashamed and, though they wouldn't admit it, afraid. Such an ancient, corrupting evil has been freed, and they could do nothing to stop it. Namarau, among others, was much, much more furious than ashamed or afraid. Without ever blinking, she left his lair, moving away from the Fortress of Ends, chasing down the vile creation of the darkest dark. He left alone, without ever telling his superiors or brethren - and they never knew where to she left.

The Voices of the Shade left a patchy, hard-to-follow path, but gaoler's senses were finely tuned to the abnormal stench of the Shade creatures. It kept moving South, and so Namarau followed. Across the Frigid Floes, where she had to swim against the frigid currents, and through the Starwood Strand, amazed at all the qualities of creatures there. Yet, she was not sight-seeing and kept on going until he reached the edge of the Scarred Wastleland. At first, Namarau was disgusted by the deceased-looking landscape, though she never let her feelings show. But, as he kept chasing the Voices, Namarau found respect for the animals, plants and dragons that called Wandering Contagion and Abiding Boneyard home. Warriors, like her, survivors and conquerors, they inspired a certain fraction of awe even from the coldest of the gaolers.

Yet, Namarau did not plan to stop here, she really didn't. But fate, or chance, perhaps, were not interested to heeding to her, well, interests. As she traveled the Shadowlands edges of the Wandering Contagion, she ran into a hunting party of the Undying Scavengers. Or, more accurately, she heard vicious roaring that could only come from a beast of great strength and horror, and found a group of mirror dragons trying their best to avoid death from a huge, multi-headed monstrosity that Naramau later learned was called an Emperor.

Urged on by her sense of duty as a guard, he did not think long before engaging the monster in a battle, giving the mirror dragons a chance to escape with their lives. Surprisingly, they did not leave, but aided her in battle, leaving distracting bites and scratches on the zombie's mottled hide as Naramau did most of the damage. He even achieved ripping on the beasts heads off, but in the end, the Emperor was far larger than the gaoler, and her viciousness did give her enough of an advantage.

A great paw descended on his back, and Naramau gave a roar of agony as she felt the flesh tear and heard bones shatter. The gaoler was sure she were to meet her end here, without accomplishing the mission, but, surprisingly, the mirror dragons picked her unconscious body up and carried it away from the raging abomination and to their clan's lair.

The High Priestess of the clan healed Naramau with her powerful magic and some aid from the divine power of the Plagueblinger. The dragon goddess was taken by the power and rage of the gaoler, and desired a member of this breed for her faithful clan. Newly awakened, Naramau bears great scars on her hide, as well as new, blood-red eyes as a reminder of her battle and her new elemental allegiance. He never gave up on finding the Voices, but now it is a part-time quest that she has help with, not a lonely calling.
