Mate: Shadow Sword
A grey and white dragon dug through a pile of scrolls, scattering them across the floor. She huffed, unsatisfied with the ones that she was looking at. With a twist of her tail, she knocked over the shelf behind her. Scrolls flew everywhere, landing in every space possible. The she dragon grinned. Shaking out her wings, she dove into the scrolls, nudging aside the useless ones with her snot.
“What are you doing?!?!” A silver male had walked into the library and was bewildered by the mess.
The male stared at the dragon nosing around in the scrolls, expecting an answer. But the dragon continued to dig, unbothered. It was as if the male wasn't in the room at all.
“Hello?” The male furrowed his brows in confusion and annoyance, “Are you ignoring me on purpose??”
Again, he was ignored. Furious the male stomped in front of the female and snatched the scroll that she was currently scanning.
“Will you please just answer my question?!”, he puffed as he stared down at her.
The female dragon stared at him with a confusion, as if he had spoken gibberish. Shrugging her shoulders, she turned away and began to open another scroll. This time her face lit up, she had finally found the scroll she had been looking for. Suddenly, the dragon sat up, her tail wagging as she began to move her wings in different motions while her snot was still buried in the scroll. Because of her sudden movement, her wing had hit a flowerpot.
CRASH!
The flowerpot hit the ground. The male jumped back in surprise, who knew a flower pot could make such a loud noise. The male opened his mouth to ask if the female was okay, but was shocked to see that she remained unbothered. He tilted his head in confusion, but then it dawned him. The reason why she had ignored him, the reason why she remained unbothered by his screaming, the reason why she hadn’t heard the flowerpot drop, and the reason why she was following the wing movements of a sign language scroll. The dragon was deaf.
As if sensing his understanding, the female dragon looked up and smiled. Then waving him over with her wing, she proudly showed him the scroll clutched tightly in her claws. Leaning down, the male studied the scroll and gave her an apologetic smile. I’m sorry, he signed slowly.
The female dragon opened her mouth and let out a beautiful giggle that she would never be able to hear. Raising her wings, she looked him in the eyes and signed. It’s okay! My name is MistyNight, what's yours?
