Otzarreta

Otzarreta made her way deep within the dark, gloomy forest. This was the last place she saw her. The last trace of her before she had disappeared. It had been a couple days and though it still felt like yesterday, Otzarreta didn’t give up the hope that she was still alive. She would keep going! No matter how hard it was. After all, it was for her. The one she loved.
”I won’t give up on you. I never will.”

Wandering endlessly for you
I can't seem to find my thoughts
Though as hard as it may be
The path laid out before me
Won't stop me from going forward
As the stars turn dark and hope turns bleak
I hold on just for you.

Otzarreta wandered, and wandered. It seemed endless. The trees reached out for her, gnarling her in every way. Scrapes and bruises adorned her body. Menacing creatures would approach her, watching her with their beady hungry eyes. But this did not frighten her. Nor stop her in her mission. She had to keep going, no matter what happened. No, it gave her courage. Because the last thing on her mind was turning back.


Bittersweet was how we met
Before we knew anything
The end drew near
As my fears began to appear
Traces of your love
Seemed to begin to
Disappear

The night was becoming darker. The forest whispered her in soft voices, growing louder by the moments that passed. Otzarreta's footsteps left a trail of where she had come from. She was scared, but she knew that seeing her loved one again would be what brought her the most joy. Otzerrat's expression changed to that of one that looked most at peace with themselves. She had a twinkle in her eye, as her memories flashed by across her mind.

Longing to meet you
Images of you fill my dreams
Remembering the moments
That graze across my skin
Slowly becoming whispers
Perched on the edge of my wings

My heart opened up
