Story

They say it was because she looked at the moon too much.

It wasn't long before Ore's clan realized she wasn't normal. She'd tell adults when they were born before they told her -- even if they normally kept it secret. Then she was telling the clan leader this dragon had murdered that one, and she wasn't lying because he had really done that to her, she'd seen it.

When they asked how she'd seen it if it happened before she was born, she'd only shrug her shoulders.

Then they were asking her other questions, questions like what would happen soon, or if this was going to come true, and she snapped at them that it didn't work that way. But they didn't understand. And they wanted it to work that way.

Only seeing the past was much more dangerous than only seeing the future.

She knew that when she was a teenager, and she'd idly looked at her pearl and seen the clan leader doing something so evil and atrocious that she'd told the whole clan at once.

They didn't believe her. She'd never forget that self-satisfied look on her former leader's face who she'd admired so much as they ordered the clan to kill her. They moved towards her, claws raised.

She fled.

She flew, long and hard, getting glimpses in the sky, not knowing if she was flying in then or now. Finally, she saw a vision of a safe place, and landed, exhausted and frightened. The dragons there were kind, and she didn't see anything horrible in their pasts, so she stayed, warning them of her old clan. This leader, a mirror named Speculo, agreed to protect her and assured her the clan was glad to have her.

And with her power, Ore knew it to be true.

Personality

Ore takes her power lightly, making jokes about it, playfully telling dragons she's seen them do that and enjoying the looks on their faces before she tells them she hasn't snooped, she only looks for the severe sins. She talks loudly and often, noting the reactions of those around her, playing like she knows more than she does. The clan eventually grew used to her antics, but she still surprises them occasionally with little jokes and pranks that hit a little too close to home.

It's easier not to be scared if she's laughing, she's discovered. She's been too scared. She acts more eccentric than she really is to get attention because she doesn't know how to get respect. Also because it's really funny when dragons underestimate her.

Also, when she does actually act serious, it always means she's seen something really, really bad. She may joke, but she never lies.

Ore sees the past instead of the future. When an adult dragon comes to the clan to trade, visit, or join, Speculo has her "scan" them to make sure they aren't dangerous and can be trusted. Ore is happy to use her powers for good, and often gets paid a large sum to appear in courts on behalf of victims. This brings in a lot of money for the clan, but a lot of danger as well -- many would kill or use a dragon like Ore, so the Coalition of Broken Glass protects her and keeps her location and clan secret.

Ore has a crush on Aurantiaco ever since seeing her past was so pure, and also because Aurantiaco doesn't treat her any differently because of her power. She keeps it secret, however-- she loves the friendship she has with Tia and doesn't want things awkward or worse, ruined. Her playful disposition combined with Tia's makes for a mega combo, and the two are practically joined at the hip when not busy with other things, cracking jokes, playing pranks, and flying around. She'll often beg Tia to make her sweets, which Tia accepts, teasing her that it's going to make her fat. Ore will smile and say she doesn't see that in her future, and the two will laugh like it's the funniest thing in the world.

It hurts Ore to see Aurantiaco flirt so freely with others, but she's never mentioned it. How would she explain, other than the fact she has a crush on her? When Ore is the subject of Aurantiaco's romantic antics, however...

Well, she can hardly sleep for days on end, she gets so excited.

Only Ore is allowed to call Aurantiaco Tia. Any dragon caught breaking this rule will get nastily pranked, like their wings getting coated in fish scales while they sleep.
