Biography
Romero
Monarch of Monstrosities
"They're coming to get you, Barbara!" Those were the last words of Romero, a warning to a frightened, hiding Fae dragon that had not realized they were discovered. The pair had been set upon by a pack of creatures of some sort. No doubt a result of the Plaguebringer's constant developing diseases, given they had been searching the Abiding Boneyard to find a rumored artifact. Whatever these creatures were, they were ravenous. A fact that quickly dawned on them when, after trying to talk to what appeared to be an afflicted dragon, their third companion, a Skydancer named Johnny, was attacked and brought down. They ran, holding themselves up in what seemed to be a long abandoned lair. It wasn't long before night, and the not-quite-dragons, descended on them and their hiding place. The rest of it was a blur, frantic struggling to keep them out, hiding when they eventually did get in, and then Romero's final, desperate warning that got himself noticed and struck down. Trouble is, Romero didn't stay down. He woke up, finding himself changed. His scales stained crimson, adorned with the pattern of bones, as ethereal hands of mist seemed to form from him, reaching for the full moon. He turned his gaze from himself to his surroundings, instinctively flinching back when he saw he was surrounded. Strangely enough, however, the creatures didn't seem to be attacking, merely watching. Romero didn't understand why, at first, until his eyes fell to the ground in front of him. There lay a rather modest crown, remarkable for its make of thorns and steel-like appearance. The artifact they had come to this land to discover. Romero couldn't help but laugh, a guffaw that only grew in intensity when he saw Johnny and Barbara among the creatures as he donned his new head-piece, claiming the right that was laid bare for the taking. |
