Since she hatched, River has been fascinated with the water. She quickly became a strong and confident swimmer, spending about as much--if not more--time in the ponds and rivers around her home as she does on land.

This was also how she discovered her unusual charge--the area's frog population. Alongside Briar, she diligently monitors them, making sure their numbers are neither dwindling to dangerous lows nor growing beyond what their homes can handle. River is very fond of the creatures, and many seem to like her.

River thought her only loves were the frogs, the water, and her family, until she met Primrose. She became fast friends with the pearlcatcher, and the more time they spent together the more she realized her feelings were something different than friendship; she'd fallen for Primrose.

It took a long period of nervous hesitation and a pep-talk from Beau for her to finally approach Primrose to say how she felt, only for Primrose to beat her to it. They're now an adorably in love couple with children of their own.
