Markarian started life out as a fairly handsome gargoyle. His ‘parents’ were curious about life’s mysteries and, as an Arcane dragon, his ‘mother’ had a good bit of magic at her disposal. The pair worked for several days on the perfect statue to experiment on, modeling the gargoyle after their own breed. After all, whoever said a gargoyle had to be ugly? Especially one who would be brought to life? After working for several months, they managed to capture a spirit to infuse into the statue, knowing they succeeded when the formerly plain grey stone changed colors, the eyes changing last of all into a vivid Arcane pink. The two later learned that it was an Arcane spirit that was harnessed, and their new ‘son’ ended up being as mischievous as any Shadow dragon ever born.

Markarian is extremely resilient, far more so than even the hardiest Snapper, and it takes quite a lot of effort to convince him to move when he doesn’t want to. A bit of a clotheshorse, Markarian loves adding new pieces to his collection. His clothes vary wildly from darker, tranquil clothes to bright, bold pieces, and it is anyone’s guess which they will see him in on any particular day. He’s also the clan’s practical joker, and he’s always devising little pranks to play on his clanmates. More than once, they’ve gotten him into hot water, but Markarian is generally personable enough to talk himself out of trouble. If not, he simply settles in to outlast the other, as his patience is truly remarkable. Some of his plans will take weeks to execute, but his patience allows them to succeed. As soon as one is accomplished, however, Markarian is always planning his next prank, leaving his clanmates to good-naturedly sigh and wonder what he will come up with next.
