Glacierfrost served the Icewarden as a Sentry alongside Floewing, patrolling the outer edges of the ice prisons. Rumor says he was only given a position because of Floewing's influence, as he's immature and gets distracted easily. He and Floewing grew up together, and he sees Floewing as his only real family, despite knowing his own biological family. His relationship with them isn't... great.
He never cared much for the life-long duties of the Gaolers, and was perfectly happy being unassigned to any Order, even after the age where most hatchlings were assigned to one. He only went along with Floewing's plans to get him assigned to an Order because he was afraid he might lose her if he didn't, and was eventually assigned to the Sentry Order.
One day, right before the end of his shift, he noticed something... dark, disappearing into the snowfall. Curious, he followed it, until he was standing at the edge of the Southern Icefield, staring out into the vast ocean that stretched out for miles in front of him. At the edge, he considered going back to get Floewing or warn the other Goalers, but when he saw a black wisp of smoke rising into the sky, his impulsive nature got the better of him and he followed it across the sea.
He hit the shores of the Windswept Plateau sometime later, dazed by all the new, intense greenery he'd never seen before. The lands were strange, and the wisp lead him to a great, dark forest--the Tangled Wood. There, he encountered a dragon who looked nothing like the other Gaolers he knew. He asked her about the wisp, and she rushed him to the rest of her Clan, where he was interrogated by a pair of absolutely minuscule dragons.
Overwhelmed and confused from the past day, and having lost the trail of what he was following, he asked to stay so he could rest. The two dragons--Daydream and Darkscale, he would learn--allowed it, granted he further explain himself the next day. That's when Floewing arrived, bound in shadow by another new dragon. She'd followed him and been captured by a scout for the Clan.
She told him they had to go home immediately, that they didn't belong here, but Glacierfrost thought otherwise. He argued that he didn't want to be like the other Gaolers anyway, and there was a whole world out there for them to explore, a life where they didn't spend all day every day guarding ice prisons. Somehow, he managed to convince her to stay with him.
Now he and Floewing reside in the Clan of Shadowed Dreams, learning about the strange dragons and lands that occupy the rest of Sornieth.
