Notes from Field Researcher Mirale:

SUBJECT: UNKNOWN, ENTRY 1

The first child of the last nest was yet another Skydancer, which was unexpected. Epitome certainly was surprised, pleasantly at that, but given what happened with the last Skydancer child...it seemed more keen on giving this one some distance. Still, it had stayed with its newborn child for a while, admiring its appearance as it wobbled about the nursery.

After a little while, Epitome left the nursery. This allowed me time to observe the hatchling as it gnawed on a large stick, and I noticed a few differences between it and its older siblings of prior nests. While its older siblings had red eyes that indicated influence of the Plague flight, this newborn had orange eyes - indicating influence of the Fire flight...despite the great distance between the Ashfall Waste and Dragonhome. I came to the conclusion that the new eye color was influenced by the child's mother, Nectar...who I assume was once a dragon hailing from a Fire clan.
I wonder if this also means it lacks the ability to produce acid?

SUBJECT: TARAXACUM, ENTRY 2

Over a period of roughly a week and a half, I've studied this new hatchling. Its sibling, the only other egg in the clutch, still hasn't hatched yet. During my time hidden away in the hive and making observations, I've made the discovery that this second Skydancer child is a food production drone, just like its mother. Epitome seems to call it "Taraxacum", so all future entries will be labeled as such.

Even as a hatchling, it's awfully quiet. One would think it'd cry for the attention of its parents, being sentient and all, but nope. It seems content on its own, and has taken to exploring the hive. It avoids the depths, likely sensing FRIGID down there and wanting nothing to do with it. I don't blame it, either. Epitome doesn't seem bothered by it attempting to control its drones, at least not to the degree where it'd harm or chase its child away. This is no doubt because of its appearance, and the fact it can't seem to control the drones at all. When it tries, the drones simply freeze, following no commands.

SUBJECT: TARAXACUM, ENTRY 3

Taraxacum has become fully grown, and seems far less hesitant to avoid certain areas of the hive. It still avoids FRIGID, which again, I don't blame it for, but it doesn't avoid its father or siblings now. It seems to get along with Three and Eleven despite the vast size difference and the twins' ferocious nature, but...the same cannot be said for Taraxacum's relationship with Usurper.

What appeared to be the first time Taraxacum met its older Imperial sibling was while Usurper appeared to be working on some sort of sick experiment that involved several dismembered creatures, including dragons, being sewn together with twine. When the Skydancer drone entered the room, Usurper had its back to the room's entrance and was repeatedly bringing its scavenged cleaver down on a creature that...used to be alive. Upon hearing Taraxacum enter, it whipped its head around with a bright grin, happily greeting it and seeming to invite it closer to see the repulsive project it was working on. When Taraxacum took a step backward, likely disturbed by what it saw, Usurper stood and insisted its sibling come closer. One more step backward, and Usurper grinned wider, more firmly demanding it.

Taraxacum suddenly turned tail and ran as Usurper laughed,
going back to what it had been doing prior to the interruption.

SUBJECT: TARAXACUM, ENTRY 4

Boy am I glad I decided to pull a night shift., otherwise I would've missed Taraxacum's escape. It was nowhere near as eventful as the ways its older siblings have escaped the hive before, it instead choosing to sneak away in the night. While Epitome slept and was unable to keep an eye on its beloved Skydancer child, Taraxacum slunk out of its room and made its way to the ground floor of the hive.

When it passed Usurper's den, however, the psychotic thing spoke from within the pitch black room. Taraxacum stopped in its tracks, looking into the room as Usurper stepped closer to the exit and poked its snout out of the room. It said something in a low voice to its younger sibling, then let out an eerie giggle and slunk back into the darkness.

Taraxacum was quick to then bolt from the room, gliding down to the ground floor of the hive and slipping outside without a sound. It then flew up and out of the gorge, pausing once reaching the ground above. It looked down into the gorge for a few moments, shook its head, then took a running start to begin flying southeast. Another one headed to the Scarred Wasteland, perhaps?

I highly doubt Epitome will take this child's absence well in the slightest.

Error's Notes:
We were surprised when Decryption and Cipher picked up a signal from near Epitome's Hive. Even more surprised to discover the source was one of his children. Taraxacum was quick to offer her allegiance, and we now have far more detailed information on how the place is laid out than the Databank could relay. She is also clever, tactically minded, and with no interest in helping the Hive. A good ally, and worth the trip to find and escort her back.

The tales of her sister, Usurper, are about as bad as the brief interaction had with her on the Wavelength indicated. That will be one to watch, and Taraxa is as interested in her sister's downfal as we.
