Biography
"No.. no!" The hoarse shout sent shock waves down Karoke's spine; whipping his spiked head around, the jade-green dragon hissed at the source of the noise.
"Keep quiet! You'll give us away to the whole lot of them!" He lifted a foreleg and lightly cuffed his friend in the chest; Hound's caramel-colored face curled into a threatening snarl, but he stayed still. Quieting down, the two turned back to the edge of the clifftop that they currently crouched upon with bellies pressed to the rocky ground.
Below them, a subclan bustled about.
Dragons of all sizes and colors buzzed with activity; some balanced large swaths of silks and wools upon their backs, sweat glistening upon their foreheads. Others trotted along with armfulls of polished beads that gleamed with every color imaginable under the summer sun, glinting happily up at Hound and Karoke as if begging the two to come steal them away. Along the base of the cliff that the two young males sat, temporary merchant stalls had been constructed with the pale-colored birchwood that grew in groves by the thousands in this region of the Viridian Labyrinth. Once-colorful sheets of thin cloth were stretched along the tops of these stalls to provide some shade from the unforgiving sun, but most were without such provisions. Hoarse voices yelled to one another, announcing their wares and sales and special deals.
It gave Karoke a headache.
Turning to Hound but keeping an eye on the activity below, Karoke lifted a claw and began to trace lines in the dirt. Hound immediately recognized the clifftop they sat upon."Alright," Karoke growled quietly, his rasp of a voice grating on Hound's sensitive ears. He flicked them back in annoyance, but listened intently to his friend. "We're up here, and the crate we need to get into is over... here." Dragging a long ridge through the dry soil, Karoke traced out a merchant's stall at the far west end of the venue.
