A travelling caravan of Nature dragons was brutally attacked by the Beastclans as they made their way through the Starfall coasts. Most of the dragons were tragically killed, but one - a Snapper hatchling - escaped. The little one had terrible injuries and was quite frightened. Luckily for him, he was found by a scout from the Twisted Spire, who rushed him back to the island in the hopes of saving his life.

Wise was stabilised, but at great cost: his leg and lower jaw were irrepairable. This would have made life very hard for him. Mechanica saw his injuries, and decided to intervene. With Grover's help, she constructed metallic replacements for him, powered by the sun itself. Wise could walk and eat unaided once more.

Though he was raised by Jewelsin (as all orphaned hatchlings in the Twisted Spire are), Wise was extremely attached to the three dragons who had rescued him. When he grew up, he took an official role as an ambassador for the Nature Flight in the Nebula Woods, allowing him to honour both of his homes at once.

• Wise gets sluggish in the winter due to a lack of sunlight.
• Wise's snake is called Creepvine.
