Lyra comes from a friendly neighbouring arcane clan with a lot of tricks up her sleeve. Often only found roaming around at night she enjoys blending herself against the night sky, the soft glow of her skeletal pattern making her look like a shooting star if she travels fast enough. While she is out and about she gathers up things like small creatures, bugs, rocks, leaves and takes them back to her room within the lair and attempts to transform them into something else through her magic. Due to the odd nature of her spell casting she uses a large staff, when the spells go a little haywire parts of the staff might seem different than it had the day prior. For instance it’s typical to see leaves poking out from its wooden surface, on some days they might suddenly be feathers, teeth, or stone. Several clan members have claimed they’ve seen live lizards with their tails fused to the wood before Lyra suddenly leaves in a hurry.

A keen interest in mimicry is what causes her to attempt to get other creatures to do the same, she takes pride in decorating her room with objects disguised as other things that can only be reverted in a specific manor. Her trickery comes in handy for getting hatchlings to eat healthy or take medicine without knowing. Salazar often comes to her for aid in tricks but is often turned down unless its something that really tickles Lyra. She wants her magic to have a purpose beyond trickery which is why she is studying it and herself so hard. You might find it hard to believe (as many clan members doubt the truth of this statement) but the frog you often see clinging to her somewhere is in fact her familiar in disguise.

Some folks tend to assume Lyra is practicing illusionist magic and is merely tricking those viewing these objects as something else. When in actuality she is a transmuter, a specialist in changing the physical properties of objects or even creatures. The reason why she preforms magic with a staff rather than her hands is if a spell backfires it would go directly onto her, when cast through a staff any misfires or accidents occur to the staff. Currently she is working on more low level things such as simply making a creature take on property’s and look of another, like her familiar appearing as a frog. Compared to something more difficult such as cherry picking aspects of a creature to mix and match to create the desired result. The more you mix things the more volatile it becomes, with objects it’s a bit easier which is why you might find cups made of flowers that can walk to their destination on delicate roots but not a sphinx familiar with the hind legs of a frog.
