Biography

HOLLY
Herbalist

Birch Logs Mycena Mushroom

She traded her voice for infinite knowledge of flora and its uses
Regret shows not in her eyes for her voice was never as valuable as the lives she saves.

Once a hermit, Holly was welcomed into the clan out of necessity and quickly charmed her way into earning a position there. The clan sought her out after one of the members fell very ill with some bizarre illness. Many had told tales of the Fae that drifted through the birch trees with medicines that could cure anything so they combed the forest and managed to discover where she stayed. It was the smallest pale hut, almost similar to a large birdhouse attached between thin tree trunks. Herbs and flowers stuck out of it from all directions and it was absolutely overflowing.

Prepared to beg, the clan leaders started to approach her with the bad news. Surprisingly enough she agreed right away, gathering her things and flying away to the clan's homeland. The legends rang true, the ill dragon was cured within days. While Holly awaited the healing process, she got to know the other dragons. They all became quite fond of her in a short amount of time and she had been so very lonely hidden away in the woods. So they came to an agreement. Holly would always have a home among them and in return she served as their herbalist since the role needed desperately to be filled. They offered her a home but she insisted on crafting her own from the same white bark of her forest. Nobody knows how she got there and back so quickly, returning with bags so full of materials that she had to walk along the ground. Soon a garden was flourishing nearby, absolutely giant compared to her small home.

Though she was well-liked, there was something disturbing about Holly. Her appearance, her personality, it was strange to the clan members who weren't used to Fae. She was almost ghostly, drifting along without a sound and not doing anything to make her presence known. She didn't meant to sneak up on her clan members, she just didn't understand that they were startled when she lifted one tiny hand and touched their shoulder when they thought they were alone. Being one of the Wordless, she couldn't speak to them either, her voice stolen away for an unknown reason. Or perhaps it was just never there to begin with. It wasn't like they could ask her.

Most found her looks to be stunning, absolutely gorgeous but eerie almost. Something about her was just...off. Her eyes a bit too big and bright, staring right through them. Her face too perfectly-shaped, completely symmetrical and never blemished. Holly moved with a strange fluidity, like smoke dipping in and out of hiding places. Her speed was her advantage when it came to gathering herbs which was a positive thing to the clan but it did creep them out to watch her dart away with ghostly grace. Holly's wings rarely stretched as well, she preferred running when she could and when she took to the sky the flash of green was breathtaking. The sharp contrast always startled her clan mates who were lucky enough to see it. Only the insides of her finned ears alludes to the drastic change in color.

As the clan herbalist, Holly spends all of her time gathering or crafting medicines. Her claws are often stained colors from crushing dried herbs or blending them into liquid. When she hears of somebody falling ill or getting injured, a few hours later a mysterious, tiny, package wrapped in paper arrives at their room. Crudely written instructions are on the inside of the tattered pages, misspelled and smudged but readable. If taken properly it'll return them to a healthy state in no time without fail. Some outside dragons from other clans even come to partake in her expertise. Unfortunately Holly cannot write much past her medicinal instructions, nor can she read the writing in the common languages. Communication is difficult between her and the clan but luckily enough the herbalist is well-versed in context clues.
