The forest floor glowed with the light of the morning sun, a gentle breeze carrying the sound of songbirds singing happily. The leaves of trees swayed gently as did the long strands of grass, both partaking in the joyous dance of the wind.

Along the side of the forest’s trail, a bright pink wildflower was plucked from a bush. Curious claws held the delicate stem, knuckles scarcely brushed the edges of silky petals. “A beach rose..” murmured Khnemu, his eyes glittering with delight. “How very lovely.”
The Wildclaw grinned and tucked the flower behind an ear, before continuing down the path. The trail brought him to an impressively tall tree, big and strong with protruding roots sprawled in every direction. Khnemu sighed contendedly, plopping down beneath the green giant. The breeze felt even more peaceful in the shade.

Reaching into his hood, Khnemu pulled out a blank scroll, along with a tiny jar of black ink and a quill. His tongue poked through sharp teeth as he began to scribble down notes and sketches of all the new plants he found. His quill glided smoothly across the scroll’s surface, weaving intricate patterns with shiny ink, until-

“‘Nemu!”

The voice startled Khnemu. His leg jerked slightly and nudged the nearby ink jar, causing it to wobble dangerously. The dragon scrambled to steady the jar, before it made an inky mess all over his brand new scroll. After a moment of fumbling, he, at last, managed to still the jar. Khnemu’s eyes fell shut for a moment as he sighed, a sound of relief, before looking up at the dragon perched atop the tree. “Tantris, I’ve asked many times that you cease these surprises of yours.”

The dragon in question grinned, a bit sheepishly. “I know I know, but this is most important-!” Tantris stopped for a moment to hover down from the tree, and stood in front of his friend. Immediately, he began to rummage around in the satchel he carried. “Okay, now where is it…” He mumbled to himself, to which Khnemu only looked at him expectantly.
“No, no no…Ah! Here!” Announced Tantris. He pulled out a book, one with a glittery, gilded cover, and held it out to Khnemu. Khnemu stared, wide-eyed, at the object being presented to him. “Could that be..?” He trailed off, taking the book from Tantris slowly, as if scared to damage it. Tantris’s wings flapped excitedly.

“Yes! I’ve finally found it! The guide we need to find the Gladelily!” Exclaimed Tantris. Khnemu gazed down at the book in amazement, before chuckling lightly. “I was beginning to think it truly *was* just a myth…” he replied. He looked over at the Skydancer, who was smiling at him.

“Worry no more, my dear friend! For now, the rarest flower in all the land, will be ours.” Tantris beamed. “We’ll bring honour to our clan!” He announced. Khnemu returned his friend’s smile.

“Honour to our clan.”
