Biography

Priestess | Undertaker

She prayed to the Earthshaker for great magical power in order to bend the world to her whims. He answered her call but the gift was so great it overwhelmed her mortal body, blinding her by transforming her eyes into stone.

Dusk reads the earth, how it bends and shifts. She knows when volcanoes will erupt, when earthquakes will strike, and when the cliffs with explode in seasonal landslides. She can read omens in the stones, and command the soil to move. Humbled by her blindness, Dusk uses her powers to aid her clannmates and perform her duties. A morbid sort, and an undertaker by trade, she is a particularly adept gravedigger. She uses her magic to part the earth. She believes all things living and dead deserve respect. Dusk arrives after battles to honor the fallen through burial, beastclan and dragonkind alike.

The clan in which Dusk now resides has an unconventional style of burial. Some dragons still choose to be 'buried', in the more traditional sense. There are still old snapper families that have graveyards out on the Shattered Plane. And of course, the Imperials carry their dead far from the clan. However, this clan isn't home to any prestigious family line that would be able maintain an ancient tomb and hoard within Cairnstone Rest. No, most of the dragons that live and die in the caverns choose to be buried in the bog among their ancestors. Dusk guesses this is a tradition that came into practice through happenstance or convenience. Many early members of the clan were feral Bogsneak, and they likely died where they had lived; in the swamp. Enough bodies perhaps, had been lost to the bog long ago, that others began to wish to be laid to rest there as well. Select parts of the swamp became the clan's ancestral burial ground. Dusk performs the rights of these unusual burials just as she would any other.
