Clowno was born in a clan residing on the Zephyr Steppes. His clan in particular was very focused on battle and strategy, so he began his training very early in his life. For his clan, he was seen as a tank due to his size and stature and was used to lift, move, build, and destroy bulky objects. As time went on, this strain became too much for his body to handle, yet he still pushed through anyway.

Despite being praised for his battle skills, Clowno still had a tough time relating with other young dragons in his clan. As it turns out, Clowno's family had a long history of being able to see spirits. It is told that Clowno's grandfather was a shadow dragon that tampered with magic, accidentally putting a curse on himself and his family. Though, it seems as if the curse skipped Clowno's father.

His clan's leader was fairly reckless with their decisions and would go to war at the drop of a dime. One of these instances caused Clowno's clan to invade the territory of a shadow clan that the leader had issues with many years ago: the same clan that Clowno's grandfather had belonged to.

Though the invasion was well planned, defeat was inevitable. In this battle, Clowno's strength faded fast as he was taking numerous hits at a time while dealing with seeing many spirits lost in the shadow territory. Because of this, he fled. He fled as far as his exhausted body would take him- flying until his wings gave out.

This is when he found himself in the Viridian Labyrinth: he traveled a little further until he decided it was safe to stop for the night. He slept that night, even though snapper dragons are not known to sleep much at all. And when he awoke, he found himself staring eye to eye with a freckled spiral dragon. He was clearly able to tell that she was arcane-born, as she was directly studying his face. The curious spiral introduced herself as Primrose and invited him to her clan to have his wounds treated.

Clowno felt as though he had no choice but to go with Primrose, as he didn't quite know where he was nor did he even have the strength to fly home. When he got to the mysterious nature clan, he was immediately escorted to the healer's den: a small sectioned off area of what appeared to be the main dens of the nature dragons. During his stay, he got to meet the few other members of the unusually small clan. He met Tunvond- the leader, Gwith- the co-leader and Tunvond's mate, and their son Vitu.

As time went on, he grew accustomed to the secluded clan, who had just recently dubbed themselves the Wildclove Clan. He even got to be there as they welcomed new members such as Pestilence- a plague-born skydancer who eventually became the head of the clan's trading system. He also grew closer with Primrose. The two enjoyed practicing arcane magic together and exploring the forest: where Clowno got to see the many nature spirits, who were much less aggressive and much less menacing than those of the shadow variety. However, the time had come for Clowno to leave and return to his home in the wind flight. He said goodbye to his new friends and headed off, though as he began reminiscing about the time he had with the nature clan versus the constant stress he was put under by his birth-clan, he turned around.

He decided to talk to Tunvond first, as he was the leader. The tundra dragon was thrilled to hear that Clowno wanted to stay with them. He broke the news to the rest of the clan, who had of course welcomed him with open claws.

He officially asked Primrose to be his mate, and she accepted. They now have two children together: Kneta and Mephistopheles. Kneta was the only child to inherit the curse, though, Mephi has powers of his own. Clowno also helped raise Thioh's son, Specter. This is likely due to the fact that Specter himself is part spirit.
