___Here is the thing about a curse as old as the deities: anyone with the knowledge and power who stands the slightest chance of lifting it are, alas, long dead. Children born to Ravaged dragons often find themselves afflicted with the same disease of a curse as their parents; it petrifies the dragon at a snail's pace, and the victim eventually loses the use of their limbs as their life slips away.

For the lucky few who are born with a less lethal strain, experienced healers are able to seal it away, often leaving scars or distinctive markings behind. This won't completely cure the dragon of the disease but it will delay the onset.

Most, however, aren't as fortunate.
