Biography
Leshau is a quiet, stoic dragon. Always observant of his surroundings and those around him, he never seems to be caught off guard. His most expressive moments come from Seran trying to get a reaction from him, yet even with that he still remains stony in expression and movement, much to the Wildclaw's disappointment.
However, when it comes to his opponents, he is utterly ruthless. He never gets caught off guard, not allowing a scratch on even his armor. He is incredibly powerful, subduing most opponents with a mere swipe, rarely ever using his full strength. He doesn't spare anyone, unless they were to retreat. He has a collection of bones from his opponents, constructing his favorites into a crown he wears constantly.
He never loses.
This talent of his, combined with his aloof personality, has resulted in many dragons being wary of him, lest they get on his bad side. Of these dragons, the most wary happen to be his own clanmates. After all, they live with him.
Very few know of his loyal, protective side, something only the kind Assiel, and the ever-observant Saudade know.
None know of his past.
Leshau was originally from a much larger Nature clan.
He was born with underdeveloped wings, which resulted in him being unable to fly. Against his peers teasing, he instead began to train his strength. Everyday, he would build his strength, practicing against stronger and stronger rivals. Eventually, it got to the point that he could easily hurl his heavier peers, and even those older than him.
As he grew, he would become close friends with the future heir to the clan, Verite. Playing with each other, protecting Verite against those envious of him, encouraging and confiding in one another, the two dragons became inseparable. Often, if you looked for one, the other would be with him.
When Verite took leadership of the clan, he wished for Leshau to remain with him. He appointed the Imperial the clan's captain of the guard. Verite grew to be a kind and wise leader. As for Leshau, he was well-loved and praised by all within the clan.
He was much different back then from now, being much more cheerful and boisterous. He would often show off his strength, much to the ladies' admiration. He would demonstrate his prowess in battle against other guards, defeating not only the rookies, but also his fellow veterans. All opponents fell at his claws. He was never afraid, knowing he would always win.
It would not last.
Leshau would one day find the opponent he could not win against.
It started when rumors began to spread of a traitor within the clan. Paranoia gripped the clan as weak spots began to appear within their defenses. Missing items and decreasing food supplies exacerbated their fears.
Eventually, the blame would begin to fall on the guard, as they were supposed to be keeping them safe. It was at this point that Leshau would take it upon himself to find the traitor.
He would eventually find him. A Nocturne who was admired by the clan for his tactical advice. He had done it for the sake of being spared as well as reaping the rewards of the rival clan's conquest. He wisely decided to retreat upon being discovered. Leshau would give chase and swiftly brought him down.
Right as Verite saw it.
Unaware of the confrontation beforehand, as well as the Noctune's reputation within the clan, it would seem to have been a betrayal by his closest friend. Normally the punishment for such an act would have been death. Yet, seeing Leshau's teary-eyed expression pained his heart. Verite could only think of the times they spent together.
"Go."
"Go? What do you mean by go? You aren't going to kill me?"
"How could I ever do such a thing to you of all people? I don't care if you are a traitor, just leave. I'll tell everyone you saved us from the traitor, but you couldn't return."
Thus, Leshau would be exiled from the clan under the pretense of having died a heroic death.
The Imperial would find himself wandering, endlessly fighting opponents. Not for sustenance, not for purpose, but for a self-inflicted punishment. This would go on until Assiel would come across him, and invite him to the clan. He would have refused, but the Skydancer was too kind to disappoint.
Now, he guards the clan with his life. Unyielding and powerful, few would even try to look him in the eyes. Yet, he swears that he would never betray nor hurt any within Wild Dance. He would never betray friends or even acquaintances.
Maybe one day, Verite and everyone else will understand that.
