Clopin is Brett's close friend and ghost hunting partner - though he likes to say that he doesn't believe in supernatural beings. He showed up in the smaller dragon's life practically out of nowhere and the two became fast friends even though they disagree on quite a few things. He is awfully protective of the Skydancer and when the need for protection arises, the runes scattered on Brett's body start to glow; Clopin denies having anything to do with this. The truth of the matter is he does. The runes are a sort of protection spell from spirits.

Clopin himself is a high level demon who finds no joy in harming others - just being a sarcastic pain is enough for him. He's made it his job to ward off other malicious demons and has actually stolen territory from them. He's done a very good job of keeping this under wraps.
