He almost made it...

The fledgling light clan wasn't quite what he'd expected. Most young clans were easy pickings. They were beginning to amass wealth but weren't rich enough to employ guards of any real skill.

Their hoards were typically easily accessed and the clan unsuspecting. Many times, Ravyn was even welcomed into such eager clans with the hopes he would stay and help bring their dreams to fruition.

And he would ... for a time. He'd enjoy their lodgings, their hospitality, their misplaced kindness. All the while, planning his plunder and escape.

This time, he hurried. He didn't get to know the Clan Leaders or their subjects and for that he must now pay the price.

Who would have guessed that this young clan, barely breaking ground, would be the home of such wise and skilled warriors?

They'd considered sending him to serve the LightWeaver. But, Scur wasn't about to let him off that easy. They were a new clan, after all. And as such, they needed the Lightweaver's blessing. Why simply send one dragon off in service when they could send ... 100?

Ravyn didn't argue. He had no desire to serve any god. And he had no qualm about mating repeatedly with random she-dragons to produce children he had no responsibility to.

This was a 'punishment' he could live with!

His only misgiving was the amount of time he would waste. How long WOULD it take to produce 100 offspring, anyway?
