Amarra had always been mesmerized by the mystery and power that the Starfall Isles seemed to possess. She became obsessed and when she couldn't obtain tutelage from the most powerful of Arcane fae, she moved on to learn as much as she could on her own.
Meddling with forbidden Arcane magics has done irreversible damage to Amarra. In an attempt to imbue herself with pure Arcane energy something went terribly wrong, as to be expected. In the resulting explosion in her lab she lost the majority of her tail and right wing. She also lost her eyesight, her glowing blue orbs clouded by a pure obsidian glaze. It was weeks later that her sight returned, but different. Her peripheral vision was completely gone. Dark shadows fill the corners of her world and she dares not look at them too closely. She sleeps as often as possible to escape the creeping shadows, but it only lasts an hour or two at best before the darkened abyss of her subconscious becomes unbearable. She also had a prosthetic made for her tail and wing, so she would be less unbalanced. Disheveled and forever exhausted, Amarra is determined to find a way to reverse what she did and protect herself from the shadows. In the meantime, she conceals her Shade-touched hide as best she can. |
