Felix

Felix, despite his name, isn't so lucky. Growing up among scholars of the Arcane, originally destined to be a diviner, but his talents were those of an elementalist. His powers developed on their own, uncontrolled and dangerous. A lot of the accidents he caused were smoothed over by his parents and teachers.

One day in the library he was challenged by another young dragon over the use of a certain spell in a book neither of them were supposed to even look at. Determined to work out the divination spell, Felix unleashed his elemental sorcery, combining divination with fire.

The good thing was that it worked. A wall of fire jumped up,and in the dancing flames they could see images of what was going on in the main cave. Him and the other dragon could even hear what was spoken.

Unfortunately, books and fire don't go together. Most of the non-magical books burned, and as his was a magical flame, some of the spellbooks were destroyed or damaged, too.

There was no way he could stay after that. He was cast out the same day, barely given enough time to pack his things. Confused, depressed and unable to figure out what to do and where to go, he landed on top of a mountain ledge and roared out his frustration. He had never been alone, no idea howto even find a good cave to make a living and worse - how to hunt for food. And despite the stories telling about dragons being loners, Felix was anything but. Being alone terrified him. The thought of hostile other beings,especially other dragons, was even worse. So in his desperation, he thought he might as well die now, by his own decision. In that night, he went to find a settlement to attack, in the hopes some dragonslayers would end him.

Yet despite all the stories about them, not many dragon slayers roamed the area, and he couldn't bring himself to really harm anyone. He crashed into the forest near the village he had found and decided to just stay there until he died.

The people in the village did what they always did when new dragons came around. They called on the Shadowshape Clan to come take care of it. Expecting a hostile foe, they found Felix instead.

Too scared of the strange dragons, Felix tried to attack them, but Engel http://flightrising.com/main.php?p=lair&id=312620&tab=dragon&did=9210486, who had been sent along to assess the danger, saw the troubled past and mind of a youngling alone. Engel himself had been in a bad shape when he arrived at the Shadowshaper's lair, so he called out to Felix, asking him to have an open mind, to let his heart talk before acting.

Felix stopped his panicked frenzy for a moment to listen to his powers. A wall of shadow came up in front of him, showing him his future with these new dragons. And he realized not only could he control his abilities now, he had also found dragons less judgemental and strict.

He considers Engel his mentor now,and even though the older dragon does not really want the responsibility, they are quickly becoming close friends. Felix has also found dragons to help him with both divination and elemental magic. He is still shy and slow to trust, but his depressions are gone and he considers himself happy again.
