Born in to a coven of witches, Ayame was next in line to lead the coven. However, her older brothers (Virgil, Aleph, and Umbra) challenged their parents and Ayame for control of the coven. Virgil was terribly injured and eventually died of his wounds but Aleph and Umbra managed to force their parents and their followers down.

Ayame was banished by her brother, along with many others of her coven, from the Tidelord's realm. She now lives as a traveling witch, moving from one clan to the next every few months. She has lived in MoonlitArcane's Clan, LividSerenity's Clan, Cerumen's Clan, and Vei's Clan.

She had hoped one day to return to the Tidelord's Realm and reclaim her title from her brothers. But, as age encroaches, so does wisdom. Ayame began to realize that vengeance isn't the most important thing, and that fulfillment in life can come from different places.

Ayame has a hard time flying because of her rough past, so she often rides on the shoulders of her clan mates.
