Rutala joined the Heralds with her mother after years of wandering Sornieth so her mother could perfect her magic. She was partially raised by Noitcelfer, who was still without a body, and over the years learned many great and horrible things from him. After her mother betrayed Noitcelfer and escaped with the vessels she quickly rose through the ranks. She not only became his head sorceress but also his companion in other things.

Never before did she feel such a rage when she learned that her mother escaped because of her younger sister, whose existence she did not even know of. She fantasises about The End of All and killing her sister and her mother, who she never forgave for abandoning her.

With her dark magic she is able to fill the empty vessels Raspin creates with life. But what she gives them is no divine spark but a dim and horrible light that forces the original souls of the bodies into the far reaches of their being.

Besides Noitcelfer she is the most powerful of the Heralds and should not be underestimated under any circumstance. Nothing good comes from magic filled with such devastating hatred and the time may come where Rutala will regret the path she chose.

When Sornieth will fall she will shed tears of regret.
