Baking as always been a part of her life. The scent of freshly baked
lemon bread wafting throughout her predominately pink kitchen, the open window letting in a slight breeze, and vaguely heard piano music playing in the distance... all of these things aspects of baking and more made her incredibly happy. Adelaide loves working in her bakery, where she spends the majority of time in the kitchen baking while Othello handles the register.
Adelaide was kicked out of her house at 16, and spent many years trying
to save up for a decent apartment and attending high school/college. At one of her many jobs, she met Othello. They quickly became close friends, and together they saved up enough money to rent a cute little apartment above an abandoned store. Every night, Adelaide and Othello would dream of starting their own business in the store they lived above. After a few more years, together they saved up enough money to begin renting out the store while still being able to put Othello through college.
Adelaide's vision for this bakery was for it to be a safe space for anyone
to come, with no fear of judgement. With her sunny disposition and Othello's help, they transformed the old building into a cute little bakery, with a few white tables, pink walls, a display case of their best creations, and flowers scattered all throughout. If someone was having a particularly stressful day, there was a "Safe Space" area in the back, complete with sensory toys, blankets, stuffed animals, earbuds, and bean bag chairs.
Their bakery quickly grew in popularity due to Adelaide's amazing
concoctions and Othello's charming personality, and also the feeling of safety. Although Adelaide still occasionally has her bad days, she's learned how to properly deal with it and not fall again into the pit she was in before meeting Othello.
