Biography
Jasper never knew his family. He was orphaned before he hatched, when an Emperor attacked the Scarred Wasteland. His parents, desperate to protect their only child, hid him as close to the Wyrmwound as they dared and attacked the beast head-on. His egg was dislodged from its resting place while they fought, and it fell in the Wyrmwound. His parents fell before the creature was defeated. There was no one to know he was missing.
When he finally hatched and crawled out of the Wyrmwound, there was pandemonium. Surviving the Plaguebringer's cauldron at all was unheard of, let alone as a newborn. He was heralded as "the Plaguebringer's Chosen," a scientific anomaly to be studied at best, and a hero to be worshipped at worst.
It was a lonely life, one Jasper left as soon as he could cross the Abiding Boneyard alone. He didn't want to be followed or found. He slipped into Nadijeh's clan easily, his good-natured demeanor and eagerness to please earning him many friends despite his evasiveness regarding his past.
