 "In breaking news, the sky. The Earth. Life. Existence as an unchanging plain with horizons of birth and death in the faint distance."    A mother sits, quiet as her tiny children play amongst themselves. She feels almost nothing, as she watches them, listens to them. But she does feel something, deep down. Something that she was trying to keep locked away. But it just kept bubbling up, as the anxiety steadily continues to eat away at her the longer she listens, the longer she watches, and the horrors and realization of what these children truly are, now, sink in, like a helpless dove drowning in thick, black tar. It's inescapable. And she doesn't know how to deal with this fear, and what she's done. These poor children are innocent. Their father must never know who they are - much less that they exist. It pains her, to let them go. Truly, it does. But they deserve a life. A real one. She owes it to them. And she'll be damned, if she causes them any trouble by trying to keep them here, with her. As a child, Edna remembers growing up with her two brothers Arklay and Daiki, until one day, her mother told all three of them that they had to go someplace safe. Someplace new. She didn't understand then, but she would understand in time. She somewhat holds a grudge against her, since even after understanding, they believed that she could have tried more to keep their family together. But she still loves their mother regardless, even after everything. She found solace in exploration and in archaeology, in the process digging up and cleaning old bones, in finding old runes and recently undiscovered tombs. What she finds the most joy in, though, is the act of using necromancy to momentarily bring their findings to life. To see how they'd react. To see if their soul still resides, as their flesh has long decayed from their bones.
