Antipathy stirs in his lair, growling as his slumber was interrupted by an unpleasant memory. That day. The day where his most loyal court members turned against him and went up in flames. The day where his entire kingdom went down in flames. The day that he was killed. Killed for the sake of power. He brooded over this, recanting every last moment that led up to that cursed day. He wondered, briefly.
How long had it been since that day?
Millennia ago, he was the king of a vast kingdom located in the same place as Pyrhgan, its name was lost to the immutable test of time. That day was...mockingly clear. The court left for their chambers as the day came to an end. He couldn't remember anything anyone said. Except for one thing. That voice, ever so clear...
"Sleep well, my king."
Everything else was a blur of fire, destruction, and screams. Everything that he and his predecessors had worked to build up over the ages, gone within a matter of hours. He ran, up the spiraling staircase, only to find himself at a dead end. He steeled himself, for he would not go down without a fight. His pursuers finally caught up to him. Their faces were blurry, except for one of them. That one...was his closest friend.
"Everything that was yours was always destined to be mine!"
Their blades tore his body up and spilled crimson blood onto the stone floor. He collapsed. It took a few minutes for his body to finally register the pain. But that pain was massively outweighed by the betrayal he felt.
"You...LIAR! HOW DARE YOU!
But all he could do was spit curses and accusations. His strength faded, leaving him unable to fight back. Just as the usurpers were about to finish him off, royal troops had finally caught up, forcing them to flee. Although his troops rushed him to the nearest medics, they could do nothing to save him. As he took his dying breaths, all he could feel was hatred and betrayal.
"Why...?"
Antipathy snapped back to reality. He clawed at the floor in frustration and roared. That one clear face and voice... He realized he had seen and heard that before, just a few days ago. That traitor spoke with the goddess of forbidden magic. What had she called him...? It didn't matter. His face curled into a malicious smile. The traitor was still alive, his for him to rip and tear.
"I WILL HAVE MY REVENGE..."
