Iliana

Iliana's visage is terrifying in a way most find hard to place. Clad all over in alternating vivid hues and dark tones, with large, pale eyelike spots on her wings and a bird's skull tied to her hip, her very presence seems hard to trust. Most assume that she's the truest type of Shadow dragon: a trickster, eyes bleeding oily black, affiliated with a circus or- better yet- a carnival.

They're... not entirely wrong.

It's true that Iliana is a Shadow dragon and a natural-born performer. Her eyes bear the Shadowbinder's blessing and her skill with magic is impeccable. But she isn't loyal to the Shadow flight: rather, she despises it.

Iliana was born to be sacrificed, to be trained and given to the Shadowbinder as some sort of tool. It's a practice that cost her her parents and every one of her siblings. Even though she was raised to believe it an honor, she sees it as nothing but a curse: fighting an endless war against other pawns of other draconic gods who have grudges thousands of years old.

In her desperation to escape such a fate, Iliana ran away. She found herself in the deserts of Lightning territory, in a marketplace where a many-eyed dragon preached a different sort of religion. And even in a world where the gods of dragonkind walk amongst them, Iliana found a different truth.
