He loves the jewelled serpant, handed as a souvenir for joining The Serpentine Alliance.

He loves rubies of all shapes and sizes.

His namesake, Ambras is rather fond of amber.

B I O G R A P H Y

______ Ambras' family goes back a long way, and he has several thousand cousins at the seems and his family is known for having royal blood in many a clan. The latest ancestors you can track back to are Envy and Squeak. Not only this, but Ambras' mother was hatched from the Stunning Souls Hatchery. However, Ambras decided to leave his mother to join another clan where he wished to find love and continue his long line of family. Upon reaching the Arcane flight, he was first welcomed by the small clan of The Serpent Alliance they promised him food and luxury if he was to stay loyal to their ways.

______ Instantly, Ambras took the offer. Where he worked for a few days, until the clan welcomed in another dragon... Comtesse. Comtesse was from yet another royal family, and it is known her grandfather originated from the Wild and Mild hatchery. He was instantly bewildered by her stunning beauty, shimmering underscales and deep, icey eyes. He stopped his working and welcomed the beautiful dragoness with open wings. Despite this angering the battle commander of the clan - Crescent - he found it worth it. He gave Comtesse the very best meals, dug out a perfect nesting area for her and even offered her to take his farmiliar. But everytime she either said no or brushed it off as nothing. How was he supposed to give his love to a dragon who didn't want it?
His usual cheery, hard-working attitude was replaced with frustration and sadness. Comtesse was spending more time with eggs and hatchlings, supporting mothers with their eggs. Perhaps she was trying to spend time away from him, or maybe something else, maybe she just wanted a family. Ambras had an idea, was it wrong? Perhaps, but then he could spend the rest of his life with his one true love.

______ Ambras soon came to Comtesse, admitting his love flat out, his undying desire to be with her to his very last breath. Comtesse had wide eyes, uneasy to accept. However, Ambras explained how he saw how much she loved spending time with eggs and hatchlings, and almost knew she wanted to have a happy family some day. Comtesse was surprised Ambras knew all this, but it was her dream to one day have a family and lots of eggs. So she accepted his offer to become mates.
Very soon, the two dragons had 3 eggs and they were both happy. Comtesse was nearly crying of hapiness, while Ambras was with the dragon he loved, his attitude was back to his normal old self and he was content again. Yet, he couldn't help wondering, what if Comtesse didn't truely love him back? What if he was a bad father and couldn't keep the promise that kept his mate happy?
Only time would tell as the eggs developed.

______ After five long, long days, the eggs hatched. Comtesse was extremely happy at her new hatchlings. 3 guardians, two females and a male. It was decided by the clan higher-ups that the females would be sent off to new homes. Initially Comtesse was sad about this, but it dawned on her that they'd most likely be sent to good homes and she could worry less. Ambras did his best to comfort the dragoness, though he couldn't hide the fact he was worried he'd be a bad father.

______ Soon, news all around Sorneith spread of an ancient dragon breed. The dragons of the clan were immensly excited and prepared carving out a den for this new arrival of dragons until the night happened, in the nursery tunnel a surge of icy power spread to the nearest ice dragon it could find - Comtesse - and Ambras woke hearing a shriek.
His dear love was alright but, their only son, had been infected by some sort of breedchange; out of his sleek guardian scales grew tufts of fur, his royal runes were now lost under the heaps of fur he was now covered in. His great wings shaped into stubby limbs and his facial fins grew into pointed ears. Many other dragons from the clan turned to hear the commotion, and they all had to double take.
The young guardian hatchling had turned into a Gaoler. With the only trait he caried from his parents being the dark, deep sanguine red.

B I O G R A P H Y

______ It has been many years since the gaoler incident. Ever since then, Saber has been showered with excessive amounts of love from Comtesse, and a lack of love from Ambras. It’s not like he hates his son, per say, but the more distant he becomes the harder it is to reconnect. Comtesse seems to despise him now, but even as he gets more disconnected from his family and friends he still holds just as much love for her.

______ Perhaps that’s a bad thing. After all, it was Comtesse who convinced him to leave the Serpentine Loyalists and migrate to fire. Certainly, their life is way more luxurious but since the migration he just feels… empty. It feels as though the happy, confident, romantic dragon he used to be was left behind in the Arcane flight. Now, his life is spent humouring Comtesse and Saber’s requests (usually revolving around decorating their home and getting a makeover) and working for the Banescales as an accountant.

______ He knows he should be grateful. Millions of dragons lack the luxury he has. Yet, every night before he sleeps alone, he twiddles the brass torc serpent in his claws - longing to return to the little Arcane clan he joined all those years ago. Their bittersweet promises of justice and loyalty, still ringing in his head.
