Rusted Crown Trinkets This crown was not made for a dragon, though it's fun to balance it on your head. 320 A U G U S T goddess of life & death ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ "A glowing ember Slowly smouldering bit by bit Ebbing away hour after hour Silently burning out" August is the most recent reincarnation of a very long line of deities, all governing the cycle of Life and Death. Even though August lacks the memories of her predecessors, she still must deal with the consequences of the actions from her predecessors. This means that August, although she respects every Object, has enemies. The steps that must be taken to secure an alliance with her enemies are unknown to August, as she lacks the knowledge of how they became enemies in the beginning. The second most recent reincarnation was Naefidel. She was loyal to no one (“nay fidelity”), and instead led her own way through Sornieth. She was the largest source of enemies, as her ideals sharply contrasted with those around her. This did not bother her whatsoever, as proven by the fact that she continued to passively work against everything that entered her life. She was eventually indirectly murdered by Ixis in a plague meant for another one of her enemies, who feels no remorse. August does not know how Naefidel died so she does not hold a grudge against Ixis, who is in no hurry to notify August of his actions. The knowledge that she will one day meet her End forces August to govern with objectivity. How can she kill those before their time, if she would not wish it on herself? This, paired with her respect for life and existence, allows the cycle to balance itself out. August takes a while to create bonds with others (due to her vehement familiarity with Ends). However, against her better judgment, she eventually does. Each End is more painful than the last, but the time spent with the object is also better each time. This is because each End brings the bitter reminder that she should have learned her lesson by now. However, the only lesson she learned and continues to learn is how to make the most of the time she has with her Object. It may take a while for her to move from respect to love for an Object; however, once she hits that mark, her love is fierce.
