xxxxxamelia skadis elwyn was just a child when her life ended. she was left at an orphanage at the age of four after her hometown went up in flames. soon after jophiel said her goodbye, she headed back to the town to help tend to the fire. it raged for three days, destroying most of the buildings and killing all but a couple of people who were helping put it out— including jophiel herself. skadis' father never returned for his daughter, leaving her to live in the orphanage until she was adopted by the royal family of masdurett at the age of seven.

xxxxxlife was rough before the orphanage. she was female. virtually useless in a line of necromancers that didn't respect women. amelia, or skadis as her parents would call her, was adventurous despite her father's disapproval of her. amelia was naturally curious, always waiting for her father to leave the house before sneaking into his study to read his books. since jophiel was just a supporting housewife at this point, she allowed her child to satisfy her curiosity. the following events, however, would be violent as terrance did not like his daughter in his presence at all. after a rough day out of home, terrance returned to find amelia, a 4-year-old back then, in his study. out of anger, he brands her with a curse sigil that remains with her through her days before meeting the masduretts.

little did young amelia know, she was one of seven children burdened under
the prophecy of 'seven'. although adopted, amelia becomes one of the seven
heirs to the throne of masdurett as a princess belonging to the seventh
generation. and even as the end of her life was prophesied, the story does not
end there. alongside her siblings, amelia will reincarnate six more times and
stumble upon them in their next lives until finally, they come face to face with
the devil once again.

despite being the holder of the grimoire chronicles in her first life, amelia will
not retain any memory of the contents of the chronicles after she remembers
her past. those memories may only be unlocked by any incarnation of natalie
who refuses to do so under any circumstance. as time moves forward, amelia
begins to trust her sister less and less.

Children of The Slain, Prologue

“Skadis,” said Jophiel. “Would you run away with me one day?”

Amelia looked into her mother’s swelling eyes and scratched her head of auburn hair which had been tangled by nine hours of sleep.

“Yes, mommy.”

Jophiel smiled a sad smile. It was the type of sad that could shatter a heart upon first glance but Amelia just couldn’t tell the difference. She reached up and gave her mother’s head a little pat before clambering onto the bed, causing the floorboards to creak.

Easing herself between her mother and the blankets, Amelia closes her eyes and tries to drift off to, but she couldn’t help but notice Jophiel digging her face in the little crook between Amelia’s neck and shoulder. This was the first time the girl evaluated just how much family meant to her. Jophiel needed her, and Amelia swore she would be there for her mother in the most sophisticated way a child could. With a pinky promise.

“Mommy… We can run away, okay? S’okay.” Amelia held out her pinky, letting her mother twine her own finger around it.

Choking back a sob, Jophiel sat up and dried her tears on the backs of her hands. Amelia followed suit and crossed her legs under her dress, waiting patiently for her mother to catch her breath. She looked around as she played with the frills of her skirt, letting Jophiel pick her up and leave the room when she was finally calm.

“Thank you, Skadis. Mommy loves you. She loves you very much.”

Skadis is a quiet, polite, non-confrontational lady. However, her quietness hides a razor-sharp wit and snarky sense of humor. If someone wrongs her she doesn't get mad. She gets even. Skadis uses all of the knowledge she's learned over years and years of reading magical studies books in her adopted father's personal library to build a step by step plan in her head on how she'll pay her enemies back. Oh and speaking of her father, revenge is a dish best served cold, and Skadis has done anything but forgotten what he did to her.
