"Huh?"
Lick?
"Who are you? Where am I? What are you? Where is where I was?"
Words from a hatchling flow through the air in a deep, ominous cave. Sound waves cascade down the tunnel seemingly without end. Her complex eyes rove the cave as she ignores the reptilian creature continuing to lick at her facial blemish. The scar!
Suddenly, the brilliant hatchling stands with a start, sending the animal's tongue flailing back into the recesses of its over-large mouth.
"They tried to! Oh!" The hatchling desperately clutches her closed eyes, ensuring they are still there, needing the reassurance that she really can still see.
"Did I run here? No way, I would remember. How-" She interrupted herself with a gasp as an entire flock of beasts appeared from the depths of the cave. Though stronger than her by far, all had a vulnerable, almost guilty look on their faces.
"Did you all bring me here- well yes, its the only explanation- but you're all part of Beastclan! Pure evil! But, you all saved me while my own family hates me for my highly developed brain and for-for my eyes. How can I listen to anything I heard them saying while my newborn eyes hadn't yet opened to expose the horror of their appearance? You all are the only ones who treated me like a clan should!"

"I may be as fragile as my namesake- the dragonfly. But, I'm just as fast and just as hungry for justice over pests, mosquito-like dragons!"
Tacit bonds were formed between her and the beastclans, then. Impenetrable bonds.



Signaling to her familiar, Libella waited for the reptile to seat safely on the landing pad that was her back. Over years of necessity, a kind of sign language had formulated between the dragon and the animals she called family. All beasts close to her knew of her mission today- to retrieve a hatchling and after giving them a scroll of eternal youth, take them back to the clan. Up to now, this patch of beasts had struggled to survive with dragons constantly out to fight them. WIth Libella, times had been better, her special eyes aiding in the hunts. But now, with an adorable hatchling, Libella could trick dragon clans in to giving the hatchling food or currency, which she could then use to herself to trade with neighboring clans. Libella knew the plan was cruel, but life really wouldn't be so bad for the hatchling. Dragons would hurt the poor thing and take advantage of it, Libella would give the hatchling a family that looks out for one another- just like Libella must do now.



Stumbling upon the peaceful Moonpool while on her journey, Libella decided this was the clan to carry out her plans upon. The clan was still forming; many defenses had been planned but not yet fully executed. Libella came unto the territory warily, quickly hiding herself in a bush when a sudden sound startled her. Two hatchlings wrestled playfully in a patch of grass breaking through the soft snow blanket. As if on their leafy blanket in their nest, the hatchlings seemed to have no fear of strangers at all. Luring the smaller, easier- to- fight dragon away from the clan was Leccare's job. A host of beasts caught the young one when Leccare had finished. Meanwhile, Libella 'fought' the other little one, which lasted all but a second before she had pinned him to the ground and was telling him lies she imagined up on the spot.
"Now, then, don't be frightened. I'm only trying to protect the rest of your loved ones by stopping your sister, young..."
"Phim. You're wrong about Glis!"
"Glis has already tricked you, Phim!"
"Even if that were true, your plan has," Phim reached for the scroll, read it as fast as his tiny mouth could, an uttered, "Failed."
"What!" Libella stood in shock as the hatchling glowed, proof of the scroll's success. Never had she seen such an act of love... love as pure as a hatchling's for his nestmate.
Her plan had certainly failed, she was caught, Glis was freed, her beast family deficient one dragon and Bramble Guardian. Even so, Libella learned a lesson she has never forgotten. Love is greater than fear.
