Aspen is a falconer, a master of birds of prey. She sells the hides and meat of animals they catch, and performs with them occasionally. She keeps all sorts- hawks, falcons, owls, as well as the more 'exotic' varieties: griffins, hippogriffs, basilisks, birds of fire and smoke. Her favorite is her phoenix, a constantly regenerating bird named Inferno. She got him when she was very young, and has cared for him through dozens of lives.

Aspen is quiet and slightly stuffy around strangers and in public, but outgoing and happy around friends. She can be intimidating- she's small to most dragons, but all claws and sharp teeth and sharper looks. She adores her birds but is strict during training. She loves birds, her own and all others, and will talk about them for hours if you let her. Some like to joke about her- she's a bird raising birds, isn't that fun- but one should never underestimate the fury of a harpy with a full flock behind her.

Aspen was abandoned by her flock. They were migratory, and she was too small to fly and too heavy to carry, so they left her. Perhaps they hoped the local harpies would find her, or perhaps they didn't care. Either way, she found a home in Clan Flygefisk- she was left to the care of Scales and Scutes, the familiar keepers, given their familiarity with non-dragon needs. They raised her as their daughter, taught her to love life and care for living beings. They gave her her phoenix after a year together.
