Biography
He woke of to the sound of Electrum yelling in his ear. As he opened his eyes, the tiny Fae leapt onto his nose, making him go cross-eyed trying to see him. "Neb! Nebby! Nebuloso! Narnia!" He snorted, throwing him back.
"I'm up, I swear I'm up."
"Could've fooled me!" Electrum's tinier voice replied. "I've been yelling for five minutes! My voice is going hoarse!"
He shifted his weight, dragging his glassy wings to a more manageable position. "You could've gotten someone bigger. I think you're the least effective person to wake me up."
"Oh shut up, everyone else is busy. Except you, you lazy bum!"
"My duties start at lunch." He yawned, his whole body scrunching up as he dragged himself to stand.
"Lazy BUM" The Fae flew off, and Nebulum chuckled as he gathered his wings into their bonds. He could barely move them, so better to be safe than sorry and not run the risk of wrecking their hard work. With a final flick of his tail, he pulled himself from his nest and into the bustling little community of rebels. His light, quiet steps barely left a mark in the dirt, but still he was wary of stepping on any of the smaller inhabitants. He peeked him head into Commander Break's tent to bid her good morning before heading out to hunt for their lunch.
It was much quieter in the bone-like forest, but he'd prefer there to have been noise. It was all too easy now to hear the cracking, the groaning, the sounds deep in the earth of water lapping against glass. Carrying sand. Carrying cold. Eating away at the glass bit by bit... and the heartbeat eating at it from within. His wings lightened, and he pulled at the bonds. He spread his wings, looking down at the shadows they cast, of reflections on cavern walls and light through deep water. That heartbeat beat through them, the only sensation they felt, and he took to the sky above the bone forest, part of him longing for the bright desert of home. Another part, a part he feared, told him "home" was, rather, down.
