Vipertail is a dragon who lived many lives. She is a mage first and foremost, specializing in magic of revitalization and change. When one of her spells went terribly wrong, she had blown herself up. It was tricky, but she had pulled her soul back from the land of the dead, biding her time in purgatory until the time was right to come back home. After all, reincarnation was a spell she could perform.

When she was reborn, she lost her light element and had gained arcane powers. While this meant she could no longer use light magic, it meant she had a whole new world of spells to explore. Only this time, she would know not to make the same mistake again. No more blowing things up for Vipertail.

When she had been part of the clan to begin with, it was tiny and consisted of a few small hatchlings left behind by the leading pair of dragons. When she was reborn, she was surprised to see how strong the clan had grown. The two leaders had returned to her surprise, but they had passed leadership down to their son, Silverwind, who had welcomed Vipertail back with open wings. Silverwind had heard whispers of stories as a hatchling of Vipertail’s magic talent and was more than happy to have the mage back home where she belonged.

The clan even boasted a small pack of mirrors, led by Wraith, a young but fierce female who had the most skills as a hunter. Wraith had been suspicious of Vipertail at first, thinking she would usurp her pack leadership. But, Vipertail had no ambition to lead a rowdy group of hunters and was content just to be accepted by them. This placated Wraith and she welcomed Vipertail as an honorary member of the pack.

Vipertail lacks the athletic talent that a mirror hunter required, her skills all come from books and scripts. She dwells for hours poring through ancient text from the light domain to study old spells. It was she who learned how to change a dragon's breed, genes, and colour should they wish. It is arduous work collecting what she needs for these complicated spells, but she is determined and talented.

While she is clever and witty, some may find her cold and distant as she is absorbed by her studies. She is not heartless at all, just too busy to bother herself by the petty dramas and gossip of the clan. She sometimes spends her time lounging around Yaen's den, an old friend from the original clan before her accidental blow up. Yaen is kind and never bothers Vipertail, so Vipertail finds quiet and solace just quietly reading in her friend's den. Sometimes it's good to get away from noisy hatchlings and boisterous hunters.

Rumors spread easily about her, since she does not socialize as much as the other mirrors do. Many have called her a necromancer, since she had used magic to reincarnate herself. They are wrong, her magic does not bring others back from the dead—only her own. She puts use to her magic daily, however, by bringing life back to wilted plants. This was likely where the rumors began. Ironically, she lacks a green thumb and cannot keep thriving living plants from wilting, despite their gardener Moss teaching her how to nurture plants of every kind.
