The heavens were not happy with his work. He was tasked with watching over the newly created life but it was already beginning to fade out of existence. As a punishment, he was flung out of the gates to Earth to live with those that he was supposed to monitor.

To ensure that he was truly tortured, he was marked with stone and metal growing in his new body, painful and slowly killing him. His immortality stripped away, he suffered on Earth only to come to realize the beauty of the world he had once been in charge of yet neglected. He mourned not only for himself but that he also could no longer save this world.

The heavens felt his remorse and after long deliberation decided to reinstate him back to his former occupation but to make sure he wouldn’t forget his experience, it kept his curse. His immortality was restored but his old state of being was forever lost.
