Sol

-touched by the Shade as an egg
-darkness traps him in this child form
-found by Valeria as an egg

-clan thought the egg was just unwell, so allowed it to be taken in
-as it got closer to hatching, the egg was observed to take on an abnormally dark colour, and less luminous, extremely strange and worrying trait for a light egg. In fact, any light egg in that state should have died, but this one was still alive. They speculated this wasn't just some 'sickness', and after hearing rumours of the Shade in nearby lands, the clan decided it was best to keep the egg at a distance, and definitely away from their own eggs. This egg was not normal.

-The egg was monitored constantly, and dragons were advised to not touch the egg directly.
-Valeria didn't want to just let the egg die, it was still alive after all. Some clan members were skeptical and wished to have the egg as far from them as possible, for fear of themselves being touched by the Shade, or the spawn itself being some demon of the Shade. Others insisted to keep the egg. Vinran resolved to keep the egg. After all, if one thing is for sure the dragon is of the light element, to be born under both the Lightweaver and Windsinger, for to be without an element would to be dead. What difference would there be between this hatchling and another?
-One thing was for sure, everyone was curious and anxious to see what would come of the egg, and the dragon within. -Finally, the egg began to crack and crumble. Half the clan gathered to see the creature that would emerge from the dim and shadowed shell. There was a quiet sigh of relief when the little pink and yellow fae emerged. Darkened eyes, skin cracked and blackened, the Shade almost got this one, almost.

Sol is a timid but hardy child. His ghost manticore familiar Shirin watches over him, keeping him safe and secure. It's a big world for a little fae, so Shirin doesn't take an eye off him when they go exploring the surrounding area, or flying in the sky.

When the Gaolers surfaced to scour Sornieth and hunt down the shade, one of the first regions they reached was the Windswept Plateau. It wasn't long before they found Sol.
-Scilla and others located Sol while he out exploring, they surrounded him and Shirin.
-They had Sol lead them back to the clan where they could assess and contain anyone suspected of being shade touched. Valeria protested at the sight of the child trapped in ice.(??)

Dusk brought unease along its chilling breeze, filling the air with an unknown dread, and the dark seemed as if to seep and infect the usually calming winds of the Plateau. Sol was playing, fascinated with the fluttering micromoths, on the outskirts of his home with Shirin at his side as she always was. Receptive of the time and sensing an odd presence, she hastily coaxed him away from the small creatures already taking refuge among cracked bark and stones.
