Biography
Shyrza
She and her sister Nephele were both born talented in magic. However, due to FadeClan's strictly regulated magic use, this was only discovered when the two, after training as soldiers, met their first spell-casting opponent. Despite never having cast a single spell, the two were able to get take down the enemy mage. Afterwards, they were both recruited to the mage defense division.
Shyrza resents this. A true believer of the Shade, she hates her magical talent. To her, it almost feels like a bertrayal by her own body. What plague dragon, what Shade dragon, would have such skills? For what purpose? Yet, she is forced to battle with magic against opponents she couldn't hope to defeat by tooth and claw.
Meanwhile, her sister is delighted by magic. Shyrza is aware of Nephele sneaking off to practice her skills in private. Nephele has spent hours trying to convince Shyrza of the brilliance of magic. Shyrza listens and secretely comtemplates turning her sister in to the authorities. Nephele is unaware of quite how wide the gulf between them has grown, how her words feel like betrayal to Shyrza and only deepen the hurt. Nephele only wishes that the two of them could become as close as they once were.
