Her father's keeper since the earliest days of her hatching, Waspermould is used to the care of the sick and demented, keeping careful watch on those whose mental states challenge the most experienced of doctors. Overextension is the name of her game, and most days, Waspermould finds herself being lost in the sway of patient care, various nursing duties, and minimal breaks. Her heart of gold can only stay so pure - can she find time for self-care before it's too late and the burnout reaches the innermost parts of her soul? While she finds employment with her clan's healing wing, Waspermould is also at the forefront of Sornieth's burgeoning field of "psychology" - a curious study that concerns itself with the ways in which derg's minds work in terms of emotions themselves, not the chemicals that cause them. Many of the dergs within the Arcanist's realm find this research too elementary for their tastes - if they know the substances that cause emotionality, what use is it to look at them on a surface level? - but her research is starting to take form in application, where dergs afflicted with various madnesses can actually start to heal and become "normal" once again. |

Great as her accomplishments are, they don't seem to do much good on her father, who seems completely lost to the affliction that has overtaken his brain. She theorizes that his madness must be somehow related to the state of his eyes, explaining why she is not the same, but she has few answers and a list of inquiries. She makes the most out of the small comforts she is provided in her world, including warm cups of tea and cookies freshly crafted under the claws of her old childhood friend, Nougat. She wants for a world where the ill can be treated with the same dignity afforded to the healthy. Her thoughts very rarely turn to dating, but when they do, they are undistinguished by gender or particular form. By her own admission, she perhaps works too hard to properly focus on such matters, nor does the topic seem particularly important in comparison with her life's work. |
