Tasha knew of nothing but the desire to live and protect. She hadn’t meant for it to happen, but as the fires singed away the ashes of her parents, she knew; Words of promises for familial support were nothing but hot air. The only true way of protecting someone was through cold steel, keeping the elements at bay. From a young age, Tasha had shown an unforeseen giftedness with machinery and mechanics; Through her hands, iron bent willingly, reshaped and remade, to become whatever form she desired. At one point during her childhood, perhaps the shapes which these metallic creatures took were small and relatively innocent (as innocent as welded iron can be), but as tragedy struck, their forms became big and ugly. From her hands, Tasha raised an army of metallic soldiers and a steel barricade to shield her clan from the outside world, where the malicious thoughts, aiming to tear and consume, lies just outside of the unseen borders. She was successful, for a while, as the other dragons from her clan hailed her a hero. But the need to protect soon became an obsession, and as her creations became more and more horrendous, many started to fear her. As her cold, unfeeling creations started to slaughter those without the clan indiscriminately, more and more dragons started to call her a murderer. Tasha did not much care what the other dragons in her clan thought of her. In her mind, she was solely in the right. She was keeping the dangers out by keeping everyone in. It did not matter if they did not understand what she was trying to do. As long as they were safe, they did not need to understand anything at all. Even so, when the entirety of the clan had united in opposition of her and, after slaughtering many of her creations, demanded her banishment, she had little choice but to flee anyways. Tasha did not quite know what happened to the clan after her banishment. Perhaps, in their minds, by getting rid of the murderous tyrant they had made her out to be, they thought they were saving themselves. Only, there was no one left to fight for them now. |
