Biography

Lore wrote:
Cecil gently closed the arcane tome he had been reading, his claws slipping from the pages as he breathed out a content sigh. He lifted his great head to peer out of his small study; here, at the top of the Argenti Observatory, he was most at peace. Heaving his weary body from where he sat, he stretched his tired limbs and yawned. Pins and needles already pricked his legs, and his wings ached to be used. Still, he hesitated for a moment to delay his departure. As much as he'd like to stay here for a few more hours, though, it was getting late and he needed to clock out.

Away he went, treading slowly through the hall and down the steps until the sun hit his face and he left the seclusion of the building. He was the only dragon here; he'd made sure he built his observatory far from nearby clans and fellow magic scholars to avoid distraction. Besides, his work was top-secret- well, in his opinion, anyway- and he couldn't have anyone following him when he left for home. Lifting his claw, the imperial focused and soon a halo of pink magic materialized around his wrist. A great light shot out from it, widening until a portal had appeared before him. As Cecil stepped through, he cast another spell, this one on himself, to remove the spell disguise self from his body.

Immediately, Cecil felt his body begin to shrink. His snout shortened and his arms and legs elongated to properly fit a new, humanoid torso. His tail disappeared, and so did his wings. His mane grew out from his head to form a long, twisting braid that reached down to his waist. No longer did he have sharp teeth, or claws, or scales. No longer was he a large, mighty dragon in the world of Sornieth. Instead, he watched the portal close as an elf, his lizard-like eyes vanishing the moment he blinked. And he smiled. He would continue his studies of the dragon's world tomorrow. But for now, he was simply looking forward to a nice warm meal and some sleep.
