Biography
Showers met his match with Solstice. Whether its thanks to her supernatural instincts or supernatural luck, he has never quite pulled off a prank that worked on her. (And neither have any of the other dragons in the lair, like Matrix or Phantasmagoria). She has an uncanny insight that translates to empathy. She's a caring dragon to any of her loved ones, and Tidelord have mercy on any who attempt to harm people she loves.
This dragon is a member of the Water flight subspecies Sunset and meets the very specific color and genetic criteria set forth by the Water flight.
As the saying goes: “Red sky at night, sailors' delight. Red sky at morning, sailors' warning.” Dragons with the color of sunset have always been revered among water clans as lucky, but only when they are born at sunset. Dragons of similar hues born during sunrise face opposite greeting for they are viewed as unlucky dragons, a curse upon the seas. Oddly this view is reversed in more Southern clans in which the winds run east to west, and sunset dragons are viewed as the cursed and sunrise the blessed.
As to the truth of whether these sunset dragons are fortunate or misfortunate, it is questionable. Some dragons say that it is all how the clan treats these hatchies that leads to the outcome of their fortunes, while others say that fate has already decided their fortunes on birth. It has become common among more superstitious clans to pair sunset dragons born during sunset and sunrise together, so in the end they may neutralize both of their fortunes and just live a normal life.
