Nightshade is not even so sure that 'nightshade' is her real name. She tries to remember a time before she lived with the den of mercenaries but nothing seems to come up. No parents. No siblings. Nothing. No matter. The past is in the past and she will not let it define her. The lovely coatl was once highly respected as a second-in-command of her faction which brought in more than enough pretty treasure. Unfortunately the methods of her tribe and how they got their coin became less and less like a group of dragons willing to commit to a cause and more like thieves and murderers. She had enough.
Nightshade did not want to continue down that road. So she left, never looked back, and has made a new life for herself in Sodansa's lair while she is unofficially 'retired from her old ways.
Nightshade is very quiet and bookish despite her once active lifestyle. Not one for conversation she can even come off as cold and disdainful. Once you get past her walls you'll find a lot of loyalty and a wry sense of humor to boot!
Despite being 'retired' the occasional dragon will guess who she is or simply see she's good at getting a job done and (if the cause is good) they can rope her into old habits. She does this often grudgingly.
