Serious yet with an almost perpetual smile, Leu is among Home's most gifted magicians. Formally named Leucis but always asking others to call him Leu, he has a delicate, quiet way of speaking and a firm sense of ambition. An orphan, he drifted from place to place, spending most of his childhood in the Shifting Expanse. A childhood accident left him blind in one eye, and he's forever trying to escape the image associated with his street-rat past. Eventually, he began study at one of Sornieth's top magical schools along with his best friend and fellow magician Rudolf. Leu has a bit of a chip on his shoulder from a past struggling to get by as an orphan, but he's determined not to take it out on anyone else, and he goes to great lengths to hide any negative emotions he's feeling from the dragons he cares about.

Leu has always been interested in the dangerous and difficult field of life magic. Every dragon on Sornieth is kept alive through magic; magic is literally a dragon's life. Leu's field of study concerns itself with the manipulation of this magic. It's a dangerous and shady field of work, and it takes a gifted dragon to make any progress. So far, Leu has been able to successfully give robots a basic form of artificial life through his magic. This is more than most studying in his field are ever able to achieve, but he hopes to one day move on to organic matter and perhaps create a form of artificial intelligence. One of his biggest character flaws is that he almost never knows when to leave well enough alone. Fortunately, his best friend Rudolf is much more on the practical side, and rarely lets Leu get too carried away. A gifted and reserved dragon with a flair for the dramatics and a slight penchant for cursing like a sailor, Leu tends to wildly alternate between acting an absolute gentleman and getting so carried away he curses dragons and gods alike. He can be temperamental and can get wrapped up in his ambition, but Leu is also one of the kindest and friendliest dragons you'll ever meet.
