wealthier sister (her sister's dull colors were seen as bad luck and she was exiled from the nest, but reunited with her sister through the dissent) - associate, chair in either executive/legislative/judicial branch (idk yet)
secretly a maverick (feeds info to the dissent)
good relationship w/ sister

family was also in the assembly, born with basically a guaranteed position in government. However, one of the parents was a highly respected maverick, and passed on the cause to Maya. Brooke found it on her own later.

both parents currently deceased. the parent who was not a maverick passed away first, then the maverick parent started teaching Maya.
